  • Photo ID of the legal representative — CNH or RG
  • The company's CNPJ number
  • The original paper document on the day of validation

Under ITI Normative Instruction No. 36/2026, the ID shown on the video call must be the original paper document. Only have a digital ID? Then validation is in person in Extrema.

What people ask about the e-CNPJ.

Who can be the holder of the e-CNPJ?
The legal representative registered for the company at Brazil's Federal Revenue Service. That person presents their document at validation.
Can our accountant use the company's e-CNPJ?
Yes, if the company authorizes it. Another option is an electronic power of attorney in e-CAC, so the accountant uses their own certificate.
Which storage should I choose for invoicing?
If invoices are issued from software installed on a single computer or server, A1 does the job and costs less. If the person in charge signs from several places, Cloud is more practical.
How long does it take?
The certificate is issued immediately once validation is approved. Customers who buy in the morning with their documents in order are usually signing the same day.
Do I need to travel to Extrema?
No. Video validation serves all of Brazil. In-person service in Extrema, MG, is there for those who prefer it, for those who only have a digital ID, and for cases where the rules require being present.
Which should I choose: A1, A3 or Cloud?
If you issue invoices from software installed on a single computer, A1 does the job and costs less. If you sign from your phone, travel or use more than one computer, Cloud saves you headaches. An A3 token makes sense when some system requires physical media.
